Dortmund, 11 February 2025 – the demand for cloud-based e-commerce solutions is increasing. They empower retail providers to seamlessly scale their infrastructure in line with business growth while lowering the barrier for traditional retailers to enter e-commerce. adesso, one of Germany’s leading IT service providers, and empiriecom, a full-service e-commerce partner within and beyond the Otto Group, are expanding their collaboration beyond product development and implementation. As part of this extended partnership, adesso is integrating empiriecom’s modular, cloud-based Commerce Suite into its solution portfolio, offering it to retail customers moving forward. The new partnership aims to jointly capitalise on the expanding market potential for dynamic and scalable trading platforms.
A success story continues
With the partnership now concluded, adesso and empiriecom are intensifying their cooperation, which has already existed since March 2024. The IT service provider is already supporting the Otto Group company in implementing the Commerce Suite for customers. adesso and its global experts from the onshore, nearshore and offshore locations have also been working hand in hand with empiriecom for a long time on the further development of the software solution. The close development collaboration continuously generates new functionalities, enabling customers to further expand their business. The partners are currently examining how the empiriecom Commerce Suite, which was previously geared towards B2C business, can be expanded to include specific B2B functionalities for new customer groups.
Modular toolbox from the cloud
The cloud-based Commerce Suite from empiriecom is a flexibly expandable technology stack that addresses companies of all sizes, from SMEs to large corporations. The multi-client capable software consists of five modules: Shop frontend, shop apps, content management, product search and order management. Companies can connect these to their customer-specific infrastructure as required via APIs (Application Programmable Interfaces) and thus gradually build up an enterprise-level online trading platform.
